This piece was compiled from a long solo improvisation involving a Prophet 6 synthesizer and a loop pedal at Heather's home studio in Brooklyn, composed in honor of her mother, Janice Margaret Allison, who passed away suddenly on February 23, 2017 from unknown causes.

Because Janice was an Occupational Therapist and a mental health advocate, all sales will be donated to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation under her name. $1 or name your donation amount.

The artwork consists of photos from her college years — San Diego in the late 1980's.

Message from Heather:

'Today marks the 5 year anniversary of my mom leaving this silly little earthly realm and moving on to do way cooler things for the universe etc. etc. and spreading love and protecting at a much larger scale. She always graced my life with unconditional love, patience, and support, cheering me on from the side of the pool for 15 years and then from afar in Virginia as I clumsily found my tribe and purpose here in the other strange pool that is New York City.

She inspires all of the art that I make, gives me strength when I’m down, and words when there are none. I’m so numb to time after spending the entire pandemic in Brooklyn, that I truly cannot believe it’s been five years without her physical presence in my life. Thank you to everyone who’s held space for me through my more difficult times since she passed, especially the powerful womxn in my life who remind me of her power and love. I hope you enjoy this piece of music I wrote for her on my synthesizer!'
